Smooth Tone and Slotted Headstock
The Taylor 114ce-N is a medium-body nylon string guitar that produces clear tones when played acoustically or plugged-in. The layered walnut back and sides are mated with a sitka spruce top to produce a bright tone that's perfect for classical work. It has a comfortable mahogany neck with a 15" radius ebony fingerboard. The Taylor 114ce-N has noteworthy resonance, thanks to Taylor's unique fan bracing pattern. Unique fan-style bracing
Taylor's nylon-string models have a bracing pattern that's wholly different from their steel-string offerings. Instead of a standard X-shaped bracing pattern, the 114ce-N has a fan-shaped top bracing pattern. Inspired by classical guitar building techniques, this pattern lets the top open up and vibrate more freely, providing a clear and open sound with boat loads of sustain. The Taylor 114ce-N has completely different sound than any other steel-stringed Taylor guitar.
Taylor ES-N electronics
The Taylor 114ce-N has a great Expression System pickup and preamp that give you a lot of tonal options. The under-saddle transducer that reproduces startlingly clear tones. The ES-N preamp and its tone controls are customized to better suit the unique tonal characteristics of nylon-stringed instruments. This guitar has the standard Expression System control layout with a master volume, and two tone controls that give you the freedom to tweak your bass and treble to create the perfect sound.
